Hero of the Demon

Hero of the Demon is a short RPG Maker eroge demon girl harem romp.  Its nothing really special.  It does what it set out to do, but thats about it.

The story is a generic demon lord is revived, and an unlikely "hero" comes out to save the world.  Except the hero is actually kind of an anti-hero.  He's been cursed that no human girl will give him the light of day, so he been stuck a virgin.  He saves a fairy and the fairy tells him to defeat the demon girls and have his way with them instead.  Somehow he eventually saves the world I guess.  The ending is kind of vague, and I think the game tried to be semi-deep but failed miserably.  Or maybe it was the machine translation that butchered everything.  I dunno.

The combat is mostly standard issue RPG Maker battles  One thing that tries to make it stand out is that you can recruit monsters into your party, but I don't really know what the point of it is.  To do so, you must weaken them and talk to them in battle, and if you're lucky you can get them to join the party.  Its not that the monsters suck, but the actual demon girl characters you get are so freaking broken theres no reason to use the monsters.  Its kind of a neat mechanic, but I think it was wasted on this game.

The art is one of the better parts of the game.  Which isn't saying a hell of a lot.  Its decent, but not great.  With the exception of one character, everyone has huge breasts.  Theres not a large variety of scenes.  You get the rape scene when you defeat the demon girl.  In town you can go to the inn and call a demon girl to your room.  You can either date her, or have sex with her.  Each town has a different date scene, but no accompanying art for it.  If you have sex with the girl, it reuses the same CG from the rape scene when you recruited her, but with different dialogue.  There are affection points, which go up when you use the girl in combat, and when you go on dates with her.  There are also spots in town where you can have the girl "relieve" your stress, but only if the girl has enough affection points.  Lastly there are NTR scenes, but I didn't bother getting those scenes, since I'm not into NTR.

The game's humor hits more then it misses.  The girls' personalities are pretty archetypical, and they play the roles well.  The MC is kind of a douchebag though.

Overall, the game is not bad.  Its on the shorter side.  I have 8 hours on it, but I'm sure you can complete it in about 5.  I grinded too much which ended up being pointless since they demon girls are broken as fuck and can tear all the bosses apart without too much hassle.  The normal battles are harder than the bosses.  The art style is very amateur, and there really aren't that many CGs.  The machine translation is pretty bad, but for the most part you can understand whats going on.   As a meganekko fan, I give the game bonus points since you can give each girl glasses, which shows up in their portraits and CG scenes.
